DESCRIPTION

Aloha! Docomomo Hawaii is proud to present its annual architectural walking tour in a new blended / virtual format. Stroll through the edge of Waikiki with us, along Ala Moana Boulevard and the Ala Wai Canal, where you can view many of structural engineer Alfred Yee’s precast buildings, designed in a tropical modern style. The pre-engineered components were made in Kapolei and typically brought on site for assembly. Along the route, other modernism buildings will be pointed out as well.

Cost of the tour is FREE.

A booklet with building descriptions can be purchased for $4.50 each, up until Friday October 8th.

Please note: All ticket sales will end at 5:00pm on Friday, October 15, 2021.

Our virtual tour will be hosted from 2:00pm - 4:00pm.

A Zoom link and pdf map will be sent to you after registration.

Please note: Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this year's event will be online only. However, we encourage you to explore the tour route and see the buildings at your own leisure.
