Docomomo US/Hawai’i is pleased to announce our Annual Membership Meeting will be at the historic King Liberty Building in Chinatown. Completed in 1952 as the Liberty Bank Building and designed by Vladimir Ossipoff, it is an example of Western modern and traditional Chinese design and is in remarkably original condition. The building was recently purchased by King Liberty LLC. Architect Dean Sakamoto, a partner in the new ownership, will talk about the history of the building and plans to make it a site for community involvement. The event will include an extensive hors d’oeuvre buffet and an open bar.
